Prepare to challenge yourself on the newest adventure for the true enthusiast. The Great Arc, which is set to become the 'Paris-Dakar' of India takes you from the tip of India in the South to Mussoorie in the Himalayas in the footsteps of Geroge Everest - yes the man who had a mountain named after him.
The Great Arc (Part 1) takes you to the half way point at Hyderabad along the 77th.41 Meridian.
The Great Arc challenges you to drive in as straight a line as poosible through the heart of India and win this momentous event.
For 2008 there will be two classes: 1) 4x4 Offroaders 2) Enduro Motorcycles

 Background to the Great Arc
Each millennium throws up a passion for doing something unique. One passion that prevailed throughout the 19th century was the accurate measurement of the dimensions of the earth with the aim of locating important geographical features in terms of latitude and longitude. After all, who we are, is intimately associated with where we are. |
